Name / Username: Nashi / nashidesei

Age: 22

Character You're Applying For: Ursa

Sample of a Journal Entry (reflective in character):
...I'm lost. I don't think that phrase has ever meant so much before. I thought I was lost when I was banished. Thought that being parted from my children was more than I'd ever be able to bear, but--

But this is worse.

He says his name is Zuko, and he looks so much like Ozai I have to believe him. No matter how much I don't want to, how painful it is when he turns to face me head on, how difficult it is when he smiles and it never quite reaches his left eye.

This is my fault. My beautiful, wonderful son; twisted and burned and old, so old, and it's all my fault.

I was willing to die for him, but in the end he--the child I knew, the boy I raised--seems to have died, inside, because of me. I wonder how long it will take before I can look him in the eye when I say I'm sorry?

Sample of a RP Entry (in character, third person):
Ursa considered herself a calm woman, for the most part. She didn't overreact, didn't yell, took everything in stride as well as she possibly could.

She had done some horrible things, she knew that, but they had been done in the name of good--not so her husband could take the throne, but so her son could live. Not so she could be queen, but so she could know that she'd given up all she had for the sake of her children.

Some who knew had said her reaction to what Azula--and later, Ozai--had told her was...an overreaction. She knew better, even now.

Even after all these years alone, she knew better.

She was calm. Collected. She knew what she had to do and she did it without hesitation. Such was the role of a Fire Nation princess, such was the role of a mother.

And yet, she would realize all too soon that there were some things she feared she would never be able to handle.

Footsteps in the hall made her lift her head, brush pulling away from the parchment rolled out in front of her. Then there was a knock on her door and her brow furrowed, deep amber eyes narrowing slightly in confusion.

A visitor? At this hour?

Nonetheless she rose, picking up her lantern and pulling her robe more tightly about herself as she moved toward the door and pulled it open.

For an instant she thought her heart stopped, for the tall young man standing outside the door was too familiar to ignore--sharp gold eyes, pure black hair and porcelain skin that she recognized far too well...

Her lips pursed to form the name "Ozai" as she took a step back; the light from her lantern shifted then, casting on both sides of the young man's face rather than just the one.

And her eyes widened further, to their limits, her heart leaping to her throat.

The name didn't want to come, every fiber of her being unwilling to accept the rumors and the whispers she'd been hearing for far too long--but after a moment it came anyway, a strangled hiss.

"...Zuko?"

Insert Word Here: Boomerang!

Why do you want to join atla_aftermath?: I've been looking to join an Avatar-based RP for a while, but never really found on that was to my fancy--and I'm busy enough that I didn't think I had time. I'm a little less busy now, but I still think a side-character would be my best bet, and I'm absolutely thrilled that Ursa hasn't been snagged yet!

Hi! This was really close and hard to decide, but you're not quite what we're looking for in regards to Ursa as a character (though really well-written and believable), though we think you'd be great as anyone else (Mai?) if you'd like to apply (really, we both have talked and encourage it).
